Your tickets will be emailed to you. \nAdditionally\, please let us know if you would like to attend one of the following optional special sessions at no additional cost: \n\nWorkshop 1 \nCommunities at Work: Teacher and Journalists Demonstrate Media Literacy Usage \nFacilitator: Vitor Tomé \n2 hours\, 2-4pm\, Thursday\, June 27\, 2024 \nDuring this program\, you will be able to watch demonstrations from Azorean teachers and journalists showing how media literacy education is incorporated in their work. \nWorkshop 2 \nWorkshop on the International “Grandparents” of Media Literacy \n3 hours\, 2-5pm\, Thursday\, June 27\, 2024 \nFacilitators: Anya Schiffrin\, Brian Gregory\, and Michael RobbGrieco \nHosted by the Media Education Lab \nIn this program\, we recognize and honor the untold stories and narratives of people who have contributed to build the media literacy knowledge and practice community. We consider these people to be our intellectual “grandparents.” Through sharing their stories\, we aim to reveal the complexity and nuance of the early days of this global\, interdisciplinary field. This program will elucidate new research questions that help people interrogate the past\, present\, and future of media literacy education.
